Overcast Show Notes Workflow

The Overcast app is probably the best iOS podcast App currently available in the AppStore. Features like Smart Speed and Voice Boost really set it apart. The capability of recommending podcasts through Twitter and fast forwarding instead of just jumping to the next podcast when remote controls are used (e.g. while driving or by using headphone controls) are really nice features. The developer also put together a really nice web service for listening to the podcast directly from your browser....

Schedule Tweets With Python

Background Information I consider Twitter a never-ending flow of text and media. Even when using lists or filters, you can’t help feeling like you are missing out on information. Ideally, you should tweet when your followers are checking their feeds, which is a very challenging task. One solution is scheduling your tweets, so that they get posted at predefined times. There are services out there like Hootsuite and Buffer which help you with this task, but only the top tier paid plans offer some flexibility....

## Why Yet Another Woot Alert System? There are several Woot alert services out there. However, most of them require you to have a web browser window open, or would alert you via SMS and/or email upon every single item being offered by Woot, even during Woot-Offs. Perhaps my needs are just too specific, so I decided to put together a customized alert system myself....

Titleize Workflow. Title Capitalization for Editorial

General This is a quick and dirty workflow for capitalizing title lines in Editorial for iOS. There are several ways to accomplish this, some people do it by calling other Apps through URL schemes, but I find this method quicker and more accurate. Additionally, you have more control over what’s happening behind the scenes. Rules for capitalization vary widely, so I used the guidelines described in this article which are inline with what is recommended by The U....

Quickly Run Scripts In Your Remote Computer With Pythonista And Launch Center Pro

This is one of those posts where I risk losing the couple of readers this site has. It’s aimed at true and self-respecting geeks. If scripting, programming and automation are of no interest to you, just keep scrolling, you might find some more palatable posts. But if they are, read on!. Background Information I’ve become dependent of a little server sitting at home. I’m using the term Server very loosely here, as it’s basically an always-on underpowered nettop running Linux....
