Introduction I’ve been on a quest to finding the ideal travel photo backup solution for a long time. Relying on just tossing your SD cards in your camera bag after they are full during a trip is a risky move that leaves you too exposed: SD cards can be lost or stolen, data can get corrupted or cards can get damaged in transit. Backing up to another medium - even if it’s just another SD card - and leaving that in a safe(r) place while traveling is the best practice....

I have been using the Taskpaper format for both task and project management for a while now. Its deceiving simplicity is its greatest strength. You might think it’s just text lines with task descriptions and tags, but that’s exactly what makes it tremendously malleable. You can use it for either simple task lists or for building yourself a nerdy workflow involving automatically run Python scripts that rearrange and sort your project tasks....

Overcast App is one of the best (if not the best) iOS podcast App currently available (you can read a comprehensive and long review here). Some time ago, I wrote about an action I put together for Workflow App to grab the show notes of the currently playing podcast episode and send it out to a predefined email address. However, that workflow had a couple of disadvantages: If show notes pages used javascript, the resulting email may not be adequately formatted....

Editorial 1.2 is out and it brought a plethora of improvements to a text editor that was already - in my opinion - the best one for iOS. Out of the box, is beautifully designed and stable enough to be used as your primary text editor. If you dig deeper, you will find advanced features like Workflows (using built-in actions and/or Python scripts), templates, GUI design, Taskpaper support, Dropbox syncing and complete markdown support, just to name a few features....

I have tried not less than 20 project/task management applications and services. From web based to desktop applications in both Mac and Windows. I have also read many reviews, including this one by Gabe Weatherhead, which I consider the mother of all reviews when it comes to task management services. It has been very difficult to find a service fitting my needs, which I thought were not that hard to begin with....
