The Best Affordable Travel Tripod

Finding the perfect travel tripod seems to be an elusive task. After traveling for more than 15 years and doing (amateur) travel photography for about 10 of those years, I have tried many tripod options. From the cheapest that can be bought online to carbon fiber and magnesium alloy options. I’ve come to the conclusion there isn’t really _ the best_ travel tripod. It depends on your personal requirements and what you are willing to compromise....

Voigtlander 10mm f5.6 review - Super Wide Angle for Sony A7 Series.

Quarks rating explanation here. Hardware Design Rating: 8.5/10 True to Voigtlander’s fashion, design is elegant and functional. Every single hardware feature is there for a reason, and it’s adequately located: the aperture ring is placed towards the front, well separated from the focusing ring, which makes it really easy to operate without looking, just by positioning your fingers on the right place. This lens is one of the three that Voigtlander has made available for Sony’s FE mount so far....

Connecting a Portable Hard Drive to a Raspberry Pi

As mentioned before, I like to travel light and I backup my photos to a high capacity and tiny USB drive. However, from time to time, I might bring along a portable 1 TB hard drive like this one, just to have some extra capacity available. The Raspberry Pi series 3 doesn’t have USB ports powerful enough to feed a hard drive, not even a portable one. The exception to that would be a small portable hard drive released by Western Digital some time ago, but it’s not easy to find and only comes in 314 GB capacity....
